Biography

Dr. Yuxiang Ren is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the School of Intelligence Science and Technology, Nanjing University (Suzhou Campus), and a dual-appointed Principal Investigator at the National Institute of Healthcare Data Science, Nanjing University. He joined Nanjing University in 2025.

He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Florida State University in 2021 (advised by Prof. Jiawei Zhang), his M.S. in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2017 (advised by Prof. Xiangnan Kong), and his B.Eng. in Software Engineering together with an LL.B. in Law from Nanjing University in 2015. From 2022 to 2025, he worked at Huawei’s 2012 Labs Central Research Institute as a Graph Computing Researcher, recruited through Huawei’s “Genius Youth” (天才少年) program.

Research Interests

His research focuses on:

  • AI for Science (AI4Science): developing AI methods that accelerate scientific discovery
  • Graph Neural Networks & Graph Computing: learning and reasoning over graph-structured data
  • Multi-modal Scientific Large Models: large models that integrate multiple scientific modalities
  • On-device Agents: efficient, deployable intelligent agents

Academic Impact

Dr. Ren has published over thirty papers in leading venues including TKDE, ICDE, NeurIPS, AAAI, and KDD, and serves as a reviewer for journals such as TPAMI, TKDE, and JMLR.
