Biography

Dr. Zhen Zhang is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the School of Intelligence Science and Technology, Nanjing University, which he joined in September 2025.

He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Zhejiang University in 2021 (advised by Prof. Jiajun Bu). From 2021 to 2025, he was a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, working with Prof. Bingsheng He.

Research Interests

His research focuses on:

• Graph Data Mining and Graph Neural Networks
• LLM Agents
• AI for Science (AI4Science) across physics, biology, and materials science
• Vertical / domain-specific large models

Academic Impact

Dr. Zhang has published more than ten first-author or corresponding-author papers in CCF-A venues including NeurIPS, SIGKDD, WWW, TKDE, and IJCAI, with over 1,100 Google Scholar citations. He serves as an Area Chair for ICLR and NeurIPS, a Senior PC member for IJCAI, and a reviewer for ICML, KDD, WWW, AAAI, TPAMI, and TKDE.
